Welcome to Pixel's Hidey Hole. Pixel is a sweetheart, but a scaredy cat, so he really needs a hidey hole. When he pops out here, he will tell you about some of his life's adventures, what he likes and dislikes, his favorite rpc(c) adventures.
| Hi, I'm Pixel, welcome to my hidey hole. It's not always a box, like in this picture, but I do need lots of other places to get away. After all, the other 3 cats here might ambush me, and the male human that moved in when mom got married is really terrifying, even if Tribble doesn't think so. | |
| This was me as a baby cat. Some people said I had big ears, but mom said she knew I'd grow into them. I came to live with her and her roommate while mom was in graduate school. Her roommates parent's cat had kittens, and mom took one of them (that would be Galaxy). But the other cats that lived here, Sunny and Tribble, didn't want a kitten, so mom went and picked out ME from thuh cage place to be his friend. The cage place humans called me Alex (and I was pet of the week even) but mom didn't really liked that. However, I answered to the 'x' sounds, so she had to think of a name with an 'x' in it. | |

Since mom really liked science fiction and computers, she came up with the name Pixel (actually a friend helped). My name is the name of the cat in a book called " The Cat Who Walks Through Walls" by a human called Robert Heinlein. As most of you probably know, its also what the little dots on computers are called. I'm famous! The picture here show my mom holding me and Galaxy, and Galaxy's sister, at the time named Snowflake. She didn't stay with us though, she went to live with my mom's mom and now her name is Cryssie. |
| Galaxy and I had a great time, as you can see in this picture. But after we lived in College Station, Texas for a while, my mom decided to go to graduate school in Minnesota (Minisofa, as I say it). We all went for a ride in the metalmonster (humans call them cars) owned by mom's parents. We rode with mom and her mom, and her dad drove thuh truck with our stuff in it. While we were going there, I tried to find a hidey hole in the metalmonsters, cuz metalmonsters really scare me. Instead, the metalmonster tried to EAT me. It grabbed my collar and wouldn't let go! I was VERY scared, but mom finally rescued me, by lying on the ground in a rest stop parking lot and reaching under the seat to get me loose from the electric seat adjuster thingy. | ![]() |
| At first I was very happy in Minnesota, but then in a few years, mom found a male human. His jacket makes scary noises and he is loud. I'm scared of him. An I don't like anyone to hold me. I do like to get petted by mom though, and to sleep on cat trees and the guest bed. | |
| I also like to help mom around the house. I help her with sewing and cleaning and everything. I do wish some of the other cats weren't here though, so I could get more of her attention. I sometimes like to let this frustration out by attacking Tribble, which mom doesn't seem to like for some reason. She does like it when I play though - in this picture I am playing with the phone cord because it has fresh NIP under it. I like nip. |
